Welcome to the Photo Gallery of Louis Mattarelli.
I started out taking pictures growing up during the 60's and 70's in rural Connecticut. It was the editorial images that I saw in Life magazine that really inspired me.
After high school, I enrolled in The Connecticut School Of Fine Arts to study photography. In 1978 I moved to San Francisco. It was here that I gained the valuable knowledge of traditional printing while employed at various professional photo labs. In the early 90's, I wanted to expand my knowledge to include computers. I went back to school to study graphic design and computer graphics. This was when I discovered Adobe Photoshop. I have spent the past 15 years working as a professional color retouch artist.
Along the way, I have photographed a wide variety of subject matter. My passion has always been photography and still is. I continue to search for new and interesting areas to explore with my camera and I remain excited at the endless possibilities that lie ahead.
